The West Virginia Air Quality Board (AQB) hears appeals pertaining to the Division of Air Quality's enforcement and permitting actions. Citizens and the regulated community file appeals with the Board. The Board maintains records of pleadings, subpoenas witnesses, holds hearings and rules on matters before it.

The Board is composed of seven members, five of whom are appointed by the Governor and two ex-officio members who are Commissioners of the Bureau for Public Health and the Department of Agriculture.

Please do not confuse the Board with the Divison of Air Quality. The WV Division of Air Quality implements air quality standards and issues permits which strictly control the construction, modification or relocation of sources of air pollution. The Division of Air Quality also enforces compliance with air quality standards.
